These chips weren't stale !!!

I went out yesterday morning to one of the playground parks close to my house. It has a tennis court, swing area, kiddie slide area, and a b-ball backstop.

I used my backup detector, a White's IDX with a Bullseye 6 inch coil, to see how it compares to my M6 with its 6 inch coil.

I started on the grassy areas, finding a few new pulltabs, just under the surface.
Picked up 2 pennies, then a clad quarter, another penny and a few more pulltabs. :(

I then decided to try the woodchips where the swings are on. After 2 clad quarters, I got a nickel signal.
It wasn't a nickel....but a gold ring!!!!! ( Found out it was plated, but 14K plated) ;D ;D It's getting good NOW!!!

Searching some more, I got another penny. My next signal showed quarter, but as I got it up to daylight....I saw a sparkle of silver.......a nugget silver ring. ;D ( Sterling stamped on the inside)
After 2 more pennies being pulled out of the ground, and 3 more pulltabs I decide to come back another day to try again.

The first time at THAT particular park and I get 2 rings!!!! A first for me............. ;)

Re: These chips weren't stale !!!

Thats a great day....All I get from the chips is kids jewelry LOL

Re: These chips weren't stale !!!

Never under estimate those playsets. I found a quarter karat diamond ring in the chips around 7 years ago.

Beautiful rings, dimeman!

I've never seen a silver nugget ring before. Very cool!

Re: These chips weren't stale !!!

Wow! Good for you! I tried some chips today for a few minutes until I realized they had JUST put another 5 inches in fresh. Perhaps if I'd persisted I'd done as well as you!

Very nice finds, so how does the M6 stack up? I am thinking about getting an M6 myself.

Yup...picked up my first gold ring in the woodchips...in January of this year! It was a nice 14K man's band. Congrats!

I like it a lot!! Check out my other post further down......Today at the park--clad AND silver.
I have only tried it on a "tot lot" once and only found pulltabs. But on the two other parks, I hit on the grassy areas and did very well.
The first day I had it I was testing it, to get to know the controls a bit, in my front yard. My yard has been hunted with the 6 different detectors I have had over the years.
I found 2 silver coins and a wheat penny, all within 10 minutes of trying out the M6.
Check out this forum for others that have it or search the "net" for M6 reviews.

It was a shock because the silver ring came in as a quarter....I thought I had another clad one, ;) and the gold plated ring came in as a nickel.
Proof that a nickel reading on the VID or target id might just be GOLD!!!! ;)

Congrats on the rings! HH, Mike
