Afternoon,

Same spot as yesterday...had a good rain and this little point showed up. It has a ding on the stem, but other than that is a whole point....not broken, just very small. I have a few this size, but not many. They would fall through an average screen.

Could have been a child arrow but most used a burned tip and went after small game. Learning with an arrow started after about ten and then they could use anything the adults used. I don't think that small arrow was big enough to fluke for birds. I see a small diameter arrow shaft with a small head for water. I don't know which tribe it came from or what training they used, so my word is wind in the trees. The squirrels will be low on the trunk. Rain Crow

Those points are tiny. I need to dig out a pic of the small points we find here in Ohio and KY. Even the smallest are considerably larger than that.

Those are commonly called lizard points,or bird points (whether or not they were used for that I dont know)but they were used as adornment,on necklaces,on clothing and such.I have pic some where of a dress with approx. 300 of them sewn on it

I am not sure where it is,when I get a chance,to look for it I will post it.They are common in burials and ceremonies also.They say where one is found usually many more are present

This is the smallest perfect one we have made of obsidian. We have lots of small points but not as beautiful as this one.
