Hit the old fort with some fellow T-Netters. Jimmy took us out but couldn’t stay. My goal of the day was one of those awesome buttons being that’s it is something other than a chicken button and I hadn’t found one yet. Boom first hole dug was indeed what I went for. It’s still getting some TLC for its future shadow box. The day started with heavy rain at 42 degrees and before we knew it we were hunting in 2 inch mud and a flash snow storm. We held through and the stuff stopped. The ground stayed wet but at least we weren’t! The first 3 hours was pretty rough. We looked at the terrain and I thought, where would I set up targets if I were stationed here 170 years ago? So I went over to where I would have done it and the buffet was open for business! I can’t find my calipers because my daughter thinks they’re cool
But I may have found some Confederate ringtale sharps from the brief Confederate occupancy of the fort. Overall a great day, got to dig some firsts. Also, there is a solid base biggun next to the ringtail, any help on ID would be great. Thanks again to Jimzz for the permission.
