Thought I had it when I first glimpsed the massive flash of "gold" in the scoop. The big chain bucket lister. Was already mentally ordering a Manticore and planning a vacation to celebrate 😂. Turns out it's just a Jaxxon "14k gold plated" and sells for a few hundred.

Behind the chain you'll see a historical nail most likely used during the Roman era. Joking.

I know the feeling, in 40 years I've dug 1 rope chain, and a few other smaller gold chains... they are incredibly hard to pick up...
I used to have a CZ6 Quicksilver with a "Salt Water" mode switch, in that mode it would not have picked up a gold chain like this..

My rope chain was real, I still have it. dug on a beach in Spain 18k, but I did not get it because of the chain, it had a medium size medallion on it.. that's what that CZ5 picked up, and no amount of adjustments would make that machine pick up the chain by itself, it would in non-salt water mode, but it made too much noise in the wet sand to use, I later switched to a Tesoro Stingray that would pick up small gold in the wet sand, but I had used to CZ5 for two years prior, and wonder how much gold I left on the beach because it wouldn't detect it.
I now use a XP DEUS II and it will pick up almost all gold on the beach, except for the really fine chains, which I don't think any machine can get.
