Don't ask me why but the images are upside down in the pre-frame but when you click on them they are oriented properly, who knows? Sorry

Is it hollow ? it looks like something electrical to me . oh well at least I can bump it to the top for more exposure.

Nothing about the piece says "artillery" to me.

The letters look more like HSC.

looks HSC to me too , looks electrical , screw on the bottom looks to be for a ground wire.

is it hollow ? what's under the two caps on top?

Nothing under them. As someone pointed out they look like potential wire connectors, they thread out. The middle hole is not threaded but the cylinder is overall solid aside for the hole.

You should really try some pictures from a normal position...

The whole hanging upside down photo's tend to confuse me. :P

HSC=Hammar & Schmitt Control Co. They do produce solenoids and other electric controls...haven't found a matching pic yet!
