It really doesnt look like a canoe from 1000 years ago.it looks more like a tree that got struck by lightning and burned,then rotted in the lake.Looks like bubba the dredger is trying to get famous by saying its a old canoe.Does georgia have a real Archaeologist to say what it is?

It looks like a canoe to me.
One must remember that all that was needed was a burnt half of a log and a little hollowing out and you had a canoe.
