this is the last straw im done

You have a bunch of detectors to sell then!

Yea I'd be pissed too if I had the ammount of detectors you have.

Yeah that sucks. Our government is bought and paid for. What ever happened to "for the people".

A sign of the times. And this is just a start. Regulation and red tape will stifle life and biz more and more as time goes on.

I thought of the perfect definition for government; "those who produce nothing standing in the way of those who produce everything".

Couldn't have said it better!

So am I understanding this right, You can detect the beaches :icon_thumleft:. But not the water :BangHead:. Is this right or am I reading the posts wrong.

keep us posted

You can still hunt private property with permission from the landowner?

My plans for retirement just changed. :BangHead: :BangHead:

The law states "archaeological site". I dont think it means or at least I didnt see metal detector specified, although it does talk about disturbing and digging. Just dont go digging up anything really really old, or at least brag about it. Big brother might be watching ! :angry5:

the govenment thinks that where i found a 1981 quarter is an archeological site lol

Since this post was just resurrected, let me correct this before it goes all wrong AGAIN.

You can detect in Fl. You can detect on the beach. You can detect in the water.

You can't detect in an Archeological site (nothing new here) You can't detect in a lease site (shipwreck type stuff) in the water. But you can swim and look.

Some parks yes, some no. Nothing new here. Private property, go for it.

Please don't post made up crap as facts.

G.i.b., when you say "please don't post made crap as facts", that's a valid concern and appeal. Because even though the posting party "means well". (afterall .... he doesn't want others to "get arrested "), yet this sky-is-falling misinformation just makes newbies everywhere run and ask their local deskbound bureaucrats "can i metal detect ?". And thus only perpetuating the very scrutiny we all want to avoid !!

we the people??? It always has been "we the people with the money!"
It was never "we the people". Except in elementary level History Books!
