what a shame!

British Law would have given them the money (split with the owner) or the coins would be returned. Shame Ireland don't follow our model.

Even though I don't know what a feck is (I can guess), I agree with the sentiment. What an unwise message to send out to people who might have contributed greatly to national history and wealth, as in England. Looks like that gloating state employee feels like HE found the gold. I try to abide by all applicable laws and respect property owners but I'd make an exception for the Irish government.

Feck 'em.

Chuck

I have never found such wealth but if I ever do the last thing I would do is contact the Irish gov.. Bunch of crooked fecks...

Any bets on what the next guy to find something nice does....

I hope it's me.... If I found that gold it would have been out of the country before the hole was filled. Not a hope I'd give it to them. If they were gonna hand me the €250,000 for it I would buy not a penny less :p

ouch, they would have gone straight into my pocket. I guess MDing in Ireland is out.....

Ha.... I MD all the time... What's in the ground that I recover belongs to me :)
