THANKS FOR A GREAT PIECE OF HISTORY!

I spent about 15 minutes reading through these pages. I noted that around pages 100 and 112, it mentions the sheriff of Uvalde, Texas (where a group hunt was recently held) and also Caldwell, KS (where we had a group hunt in the spring). Now, some one smarter than I might be able to figure out where the Chisholm trail went through Caldwell on the way to Abeline, KS.

Next September when we gather again in Caldwell, it could make for another interesting hunt!

Just sayin'.......

You need to check out what was called Red River Station it was a Texas Ranger fort on the red river
I grew up in Bowie and me and my Dad went there and MD quite often you could go on this property
and see were the fort was the state put corner markers out there to maek the fort
You can go across the road from it and go into the old Cemetery for the fort

6 years late to the party it seems on this one. I just came across this story about the Bowie robbery and subsequent missing $20 gold pieces and have not been able to verify a single fact of the story. I was wondering if anyone has had better luck in validating any part of this tale?
