Well, judging by others that are shown on Tnet, real and repro, I would say repro. Unless it was put in the box 10 years after it was hammered. You never know though.
I could be very wrong, hope so. Not Roman, British. King John? I'm really diving in to unknown territory but just getting you back to the top of the board.

Neat find, and would be exceptional if genuine. It seems to be a William I penny, of a similar type to this one (picture from 'Sovereign Rarities Ltd):

Unfortunately it is, as you've concluded, a replica. Modern replica, not contemporary fake.

Red-Coat nailed it. I bought another old coin once (in a collection so cost almost nothing), and that's when I learned about the mold seams on the edge.
