Today I found a vase, and need some help identifying it. The makers mark has smudged and Info would be great. IMG_6782.webpIMG_6773.webp

I think it's Czech or Austrian, can't really read it but the style of mark and style of vase looks familiar to those regions imo. Made in maybe around 1890 to 1910.

Should I try to take more detailed pictures?

I moved this request from Help! over to What Is It for more exposure.

Just tidying up some blasts from the past (including some very ancient ones), largely for the benefit of anyone searching the site for information.

I’ve put the mark alongside a more legible example below for comparison. It’s a generic “Made in Czecho-Slovakia” mark for export-ware, and not for any particular manufacturer.

The Czech and Slovak territories came together as Czechoslovakia at the end of WWI in 1918 and that particular mark was used during the 1920s and 1930s up until WWII broke out. Obviously, there was no export to English-speaking countries thereafter, while the war was in progress.

Value in the region of $15-$20.
