My feelings are it was used near a fireplace for cooking. I think it could be swung out of the way when done cooking. What are your thoughts

It does seem to be some kind of swinging hanger. It looks like it failed at some point on that small eyelet.

I probably should have taken a different angle of this item . I can see where one pot could be hung on it. I also see where if there was 2 of them a bar could be stuck through them and then able to hang more pots on them. and then done cooking just swing them out of the way

Looks short for being a fireplace crane.

The round stock "feet" area arrangement is similar to gate hinges.
