I got a new coil for my V3i.... I wasn't happy with the DD coil and I got a 950 to replace it... Here is what I found...

#1 Pin Pointing is way more accurate
#2 Coil is noticeably lighter
#3 Far less signal chatter
#4 Them dang bottle cap DONOT ring up as quarters now (Yea!)

Now for the finds...

23 Quarters - 25 Dimes - 11 Nickels - 23 Lincoln Pennies - 22 Zinc Pennies (clad don't deserve pics LOL)

1 Junk Ring
1 Childs SILVER Ring (2.7g)
1 Mans SILVER Ring (7.9g)

Now here is an interesting question... I only have found 3 rings all year with the DD coil and now with the 950 coil I found 3 in 2 days... is it because its smaller, more accurate or not as hot as the DD coil? Or was I just lucky? I'd like to hear your ideas on that.

Oh yeah you water hunters... yes I found it in the water... how do you get the black off of silver?

The big ring rang up as a quarter, loud and clear since I got 14 that day I thought it was another!

On the Whites forum the coils rank in popularity as 6x10 48%, D2 31%, 950 10%. But what matters is what works best for you. Too many variables with your hunting style, your targets and soil conditions, etc. I also found the 950 a breeze to pinpoint with. I've been playing around with the big hoss 300/12 coil. That one can get weird when it comes to pinpointing. There is also a "correlate" program you may want to try out, if you haven't already.

No I haven't where do I find it?

You did good with the 950 coil  the only 2 coils that I've been using on my V3i are the D2 and 4x6DD Shooter. I've been having really good luck with my D2 coil, I previously used a D2 on my MXT so I was in a way already use to it. I have the 950 from the MXT but I haven't even tried it, I'll have to give a whirl one of these days.

tarnex cleans up the silver real nice on rings don,t use on valuable coins but also cleans silver coins nicely only if not of great value just for your own taste

I did the same thing with my V3. I did not like the DD and bought the 950. Much better. More stable.

Either click the Whites logo at the top of this page where the sponsors are and them click forum. About half way down there is a category for Detector Programs. Or you can try this link:

I like the new coil more and more every day! How long have you had it on the V3?
