Last year the rabbits dined very well on the snow pea plants and I got very little peas. This year I built a fortress around the garden. So far there was only one breach that I'm aware of. The grandson was with me so I told him we're gonna chase that bunny around and around and it will hopefully remember the way it got in there. We had fun running that rabbit this way and then back the other way around the garden. Finally it jumped up between a 4x4 post I anchored to the tall privacy fence in the back through a gap just wide enough for it to get into the garden. After we found a piece of 1x3 we nailed shut that gap. I believe it did the trick and I've yet to see another bunny in the garden again. Though I did find a skunk poop in there, but I see no damage it may have caused. Hopefully all it was interested in was some grubs and bugs 🐛. I read about a deterrent for skunks I used when I had a problem before after my dog got sprayed and that's saving the urine soaked cat litter to sprinkle around and skunks are supposed to avoid that scent. It seemed to work when I did use it before. Im not sure I'll need to do that because maybe the skunk is in there doing something good. ?
