Went to a flea market today and got what I thought was a trade dollar for $25, now, normally I wouldn't buy one ungraded but I figure if nothing else it is worth it for the silver content. I ended up buying it with some other coins and it wasn't until I got home that I realized the die axis was medal orientation.... Ah well, has a ring like silver so it might still be worth some money in scrap, upon closer inspection some of the rim denticles didn't look right either... Ah well, at least I got it for cheap

Denticles are the first thing to look at... even on the best fakes, denticles may appear uneven or irregular.

What are denticles? Are you talking about the reeding around the rim of the coin?
