Thoughts on getting to my prize?

Bought these at a local antique shop for $16

First is encased in about an inch of acrlic and the second bonded or glued somehow into the money clip

So do I:
A) Try to bust these free - and how?
B) Leave em be and sell them?

It may be tough to get that first one out. Do you have a band saw?

You may be able to make a profit on he money clip if its sterling.

Nothing a good old blowtorch wont handle, soften/melt the acrlyc, and hope that the heat from the torch breaks the glue/solder bond on the buckle thing. Just make sure u dont get the flame directly on the coin for too long.

If you dont have a blowtorch toss both into a camp fire, it will melt it just fine without destroying the coins

I wouldn't bother - couple nice items there. Use them for what they are for. You aren't going to make much profit from them so you might as well enjoy them.

Why would you ruin them? I think they are much cooler as is and would probably sell for a higher premium on eBay..

First one, slap a PCGS sticker on it and call it a day.

Second one, use it to hold your bank roll.

yea first thing is I'd try to get a premium on craigslist or ebay. I'm sure you can get at least their silver value and save you the time

On the money clips, some of them don't use a full sized half, but rather have one shaved down to about half its thickness.

Oh c'mon ! - The one in the plastic is very cool as it is -( you will make an enormous mess trying to extricate that one ) Really , why bother with either of them ??

Buy a cheap microwave at goodwill, make sure its outside and your electric lines cannot catch on fire, and microwaved it for 40 minutes, the acrylic should be gone.

Is the money slip Sterling? If so, keep it as is.

I'd use the acrylic-encased half as a coffee table piece.

I'd keep them as-is. Someone will pay more for what they are....or they will try to break them on their own. Ie. Not your problem
