Had another nice...even
very nice week working my beach pocket.
Thursday, just about quitting time hit a nice chain high up on the pocket, 14K weighing in at 20.4 grams with a Guadalupe pendant. It was down about 7". When I got it out of the hole and dumped on the sand I first saw it as some sort of yellow sea grass. It was getting close to dusk. It made a nice metallic sound as I picked it back up with the scoop and my heart skipped a beat. The clasp is in good shape and it looks like it just fell off a neck. I've been looking for a chain to keep and this one might just be the one.
Friday, first target down about 6" a very pleasant surprise! Clunk, clunk...14K with a nice larger diamond and some 12 small. Weighing in at 7.9 grams.
Saturday, a different beach where my haul was a nickle and a penny. But it's also a beach where I've gotten over a dozen gold rings (and my avatar photo) so it's worthwhile to check in once in a while.
Sunday, back to the pocket beach. The original pocket was coming back alive. After about 6 clads I was again surprised with the sweet rattle in my scoop. From down low on the slope and about 6" deep a ladies cocktail ring at 10K and weighing 4.0 grams. Lots and lots of tiny diamonds and in the photo the 2 missing are clearly visible by their absence. Those tiny diamonds are nice to find but are essentially worthless, unfortunately.
So today...guess where I'm heading to?
Gotta Love this Hobby!
PS: I'm so happy with my Dual Field that I took advantage of an opportunity to pick up another one in great condition as a spare.
