Went back to the Civil War camp in Maryland and found another New york cuff button, knapsack hook and 10 1/2 3 three ringers, one of them was half melted and another still had some of the paper cartridge with powder attached. Also found a a 1934 Mercury dime (my first) and a 1917 Buffalo Nickel .

wow, that's something you don't see, EVER

Rare find in that partial paper-cartridge round. Be careful how you handle and store it so it doesn't deteriorate any further and you'll have a 1st-rate find for a long time to come.

Rare is an understatement . Great save. Wow!

My dad found a great cartridge with container but that was back in the '60s. To find one in 2014 . . . just DANG! Few people can say they've found THAT. Wow.

great finds, love the bullet with the paper.

Thanks for all the comments, I think I'll check with one of the local experts, Don Hinks at Gettysburg Electronics to see if he has any advice on preserving the bullet with the paper and powder.

Wow totally awesome!
