I went detecting the other day and hit only nut, bolts, and wire. Then I swung by the TS on the way home and found these.
3.5 grams of 14k gold for only $3.00? Why yes, I'll take those earrings, please --

gold earrings.webp

Yep it’s why I don’t do much metal detecting anymore

Oh, I love being outside and detecting. I much prefer it to being indoors. I enjoy finding artifacts, but so far I haven't found anything big yet. But I'd rather metal-detect than anything.

Nice score on the gold earrings. I like metal detecting. Just can't be in the sun anymore. Detecting is for fun, picking is for fun and profit.

Nice pick up. I've yet to strike gold at a TS.

I nominated this for a banner, gold is great no matter how you find it.

They don’t let our tstore/garage sale finds on the banner. Kind of aggravating- but I sort of get it. Though a Few years back, I pulled a 16 carat diamond cartier studio brooch out of an auction lot - far as I know, it’s value, importance and rarity far exceeded the usual banner stuff - but alas, deemed not worthy because it wasn’t dug.

That's OK -- I thought it was sweet, anyway! Do you have a pic of the Cartier piece? I'm drooling to see it. I probably would have passed out if I picked that.

Nice pick up. I've yet to strike gold at a TS.
frequent stops at a thrift store will increase your odds of success. I stop by one at least every day to see what's new in the case and on the shelves. Of course I've got several large and small thift shops within close proximity to me and I can hit 6 of them in a matter of a couple hours. The big outlets have gotten really good at sorting out the gold and silver within the last 5+ years now, but they still can't eyeball everything of great value and that's what I look for in those places.

How do they fit?:laughing7:

They are old-fashioned screw-on's. Have built-in screw on the back (for non-pierced ears).
