Tiger Shark or the fisher 1280x

The Fisher has a separate battery comp. Where the TS has it's batteries in with the guts where if you don't seal it properly water can get inside. NOT a good thing. Also on the Tiger Shark there are 3 controls inside with the guts, Volume, Threshold and Sensitivity. You might only need to set these one time and leave them for years. Tiger Shark is deeper because it is ground balanced while the 1280 has a preset GB.

Also the Tiger Shark has a connector so you can change coils, while the 1280, you are stuck with what ever you ordered. The TS is sensitive enough to find gold chains, one of the few that can do this. Tesoro has a fantastic warranty if you ever need it while Fisher service is not what it used to be and it is only for 2 years. There are Horror stories from many about the service. This is a shame as I still have two 1280's, a CZ20, 1235, and a CZ6a. My main water detector is the Excal with the Tiger Shark as a backup.
