I was looking on EBAY and found a Tiger Shark adapter cord for the UMAX coils...Does this adapter work and will it work with all UMAX coils? Does anyone have any experience hunting on land with the Tiger Shark? I have had the detector for about 4 mths and am new to the hobby and absolutly love it. I want to expand my hunts to land. Do I have the right detector? I mean, I know it is awesome on the beach and i have found some cool finds but will it work great for land use. I don't plan to go no farther than ankle deep in the ocean so should I consider getting another detector (maybe one with a digital readout).

Thanks in advance for any insight to the delima I am having.

By the way this forum is absolutly wonderful!!!! I work 3rd shift and I spent all night reading everyone's post.

I know another detector would cost more money, but the Tiger Shark is not a good land detector mainly because it does not have a pinpoint mode. Pinpoint means just that, you can touch the coin or target on the first poke with a screw driver or probe and no trowl or shovel is needed. with pinpoint you can also trace the size of the target to see if it is really a coin or ring. Add to this that the Tiger being a water detector it is heavier.

Welcome to the hobby......It is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. :D
