Good thing it was just a cover. That is what they are for! You must have banged it and scraped on rocks, that usually wears them down.

Perfect example of why its best to spend $15 to avoid the $100+ new coil... but more importantly the downtime it could bring!

Looks like you took it off with a hammer tho
