My hunting buddy and I both have aged and extremely used ShadowX2's and they ain't cutting the mustard. We've cleaned out many of our good spots on VERY low discrimination or no discrimination.
We need to go deeper and we hunt both relics and coins. We've been wanting Tejons since they came out a while ago...... Anyone have a suggestion where to go for a good deal on two of em or a deal with extra goodies (my Lesche is on it's third new welded handle and both of our Bullseyes are cranky, hahaha)? The ones we bought were from a local, very small dealer in St. Petersburg, FL. Just asking before we start looking into the classifieds. Thanks. Suggestion for a different model? Our conditions are sand, sand, and dirt, no minerals, but need discrimination and no fancy stuff we won't likely use. We do not beach hunt for rings, etc. but many of our sites are on bay beaches. The shadows have had little to no problem with the wet sand.

Take a look a the Vaquero, I got mine a few months back. Still learning it, very impressed with the depth. Cibola is the same machine without the GB feature

The Vaquero and Cibola are great machines, but for extreme depth, Tesoro wise, get Tejons. Contact dealers and tell them you want two and see what kind of deal they can give you. If they can't discount the detectors, they may be able to throw in a few Lesche's and/or pinpointers. Call every dealer you can, doing a search on Google for the best deal, or maybe a dealer that sponsors this forum will contact you. Always good to use a dealer on this forum.

Both the Tejon and Vaquero are the detectors for what you are planning on doing. I would contact Joe (USA) and ask him what to get.

Thanks, Guys, I really appreciate the heads up and I have probably settled on the Tejons. Got some messages through PM, too.

We have cleaned out several areas on min discrim. and I mean on the MIN or just using all metal by holding down the pinpoint button. Of course cleaning it out with a ShadowX2 isn't saying much but we've got results. We need to get deeper and also to be hot on small items as well as coins. It's worth getting them just for this one site. Spanish coins and buttons, 1820's-30's Indian Wars buttons and civil war relics and buttons. We think the site may be a camp/emplacement of sorts for the Key West Avengers, sailors mostly from Key West who joined the Florida Coast Guard at Tampa, who commanded three small boats, actually called Mulrennan's Coast Guard for a time. In April 1862 they were mustered into Capt. Robert B. Smith's 7th Regt. Florida Volunteers stationed at Tampa at Fort Brooke.
They were constantly requesting permission from Secy. Mallory to join the Confederate Navy.
Transfers and movements from Aug. 1862 to March 1864 eventually broke up the rowdy Lads.

It was certainly a fish camp back into the Indian Wars Times and earlier, the owner of the land was known as a guide for Jackson as he campaigned to clear out the rest of the Seminoles. He was given the property for his service. I personally do not agree with Jackson's attacks and techniques for doing this. Also many soldiers camped on the spot during the Civil War Period when Fort Brooke was operational.

Looking for depth, discrimination and top notch ground balance,go with the first Bandido and the Euro.
