When my son was little, he was constantly whining and needing help on everything. (Somehow in his teenage years this all changed, a real miracle!) Anyways, he would be doing something and basically had already given up with out really trying and so I would tell him that it was time to put the big boy pants on and get it done. He would moan and groan but eventually get it done. He was just a drama kid and so I kept telling him that it was time to put the big boy pants on and to quit being a wimp.

So one day, we were going fishing at this place on the river that we had permission to hunt and fish on. There was this super old road of sorts that we walked to get to this one hole. It was hot and although this road had small saplings growing in it and thick brush all along it, I decided to drive the old Dodge truck down it. This old Dodge was a real truck with real steel everything and tough as a boot. I always had mud type tires on it because it just made life easier. Anyways, there were a couple of deep ruts filled with water that had been created many years ago by logging trucks. I knew that I had to do my best to avoid the deepest spots to keep from getting stuck, it would be a long walk. So, we hit it hard and fast and bounced around some but got thru.

After we had fished, we started back and unfortunately, I slid down into the deepest spot and was high centered. Yep, very stuck and I knew it as I opened the door to get out and see how bad. My son got out and walked around to the back to see as well as I knelt down to look at the situation. I was already working out in my mind what to do when I heard my son speak, "Wow Dad, now you are going to have to put the big boy pants on." I smiled as I answered, "Yep and I have to get busy if we don't want to spend the night here!" It took a couple of hours but we got it done and were off again. My son learned a lot that day and has used that knowledge several times since.

Lesson well learned, Lesson well taught:icon_thumleft:

At first glance I assumed this thread was something to do with one of the vendors and I almost passed it up thinking it was a solicitation. Glad I didn't.
