Great find! Especially from the trash.

I'm not a tin toy collector, but know a dealer who is. Based on what I have seen in his shop, he sells tin cars like yours (mid grade/working) for about $30.00. However, one in mint condition with it's original box like the one shown below would likely net $100.00+ :icon_thumleft:

Original, Antique 1940's Alps Press Mobile Police Car Tin Litho Windup Toy in the Original Box. This is the rare version of this toy as it is a police car, not the usually found plain sedan. This toy is original, complete and in near mint condition. There is no denting to the roof as usually found on this car. It works good, and when you press down on the top the car, it activates the windup motor causing the car to travel forward. The Trade Mark Alps Toy logo, Japan, and Press Top of Car to Wind It, are printed on the bottom. Measures 6" long. The illustrated box is original and in excellent condition.
