Got out yesterday to another Chicago Park with the Equinox 800 and dug this interesting tiny German Pfennig. Rang up like a nickel.

Any time I find something like that real fake or foriegn for that brief moment Im holing I have an ancient coin Cool find though

Nice find. Congrats

Nice IHP! And that little German coin is really cool! :icon_thumleft:

very cool find, finds like that give you even more confidence in your set up and machine. was it very deep? that is small enough to get your heart racing for possibly a small silver. foreign coins are always cool and interesting to find

Hate to break it to you, Bharpring, but spiel-munze means play money in German. It's a game token, or just a play coin. Notice there is no date on it. Still cool!

Interesting find! :occasion14:

It was only about 6” deep, but I found it in a washout area that had been eroded by a heavy storm or storms on the side of a hill. It looked like there was about 9 to 12” of dirt removed. Initially thought it was a flat button with no shank.

Yeah, I know. I included a link to a description of it on my initial post at the bottom. It could be the smallest copper coin of any kind that I have dug.
