Tips for removing objects from magnet?

The other day I got a washer attached to my magnet, its VERY thin and none of it is hanging off the magnet so I cannot grab it. I have tried using my gloves, a rag, even a table edge to push it off but to no avail. Is there any type of detatcher that people use in certain situations?

why even worry about it ? if its that thin just leave it there. lets see a picture then maybe it will bother me too !

I have also seen where a fellow just laid the magnet on its side (held by one foot) and used a plastic stake (like from lowes of home depot) to push it off the edge. Small bag of stakes is around $7.

You need to put your magnet in a "sandbag" bag, so that you can just pull the bag off when small crap is stuck. Kind of like black sand on our prospecting rare earth mags.

That would work great on small items but would cause a break in adhesion on items that may stick that weighed 20 or better pounds. A person never knows what the next cast will bring in, a tiny coin or a larger item like a trolling motor.
