I really had a great time yesterday. The musuem was really a unique place, most of the items were found by the owner, bottles, old tools, indian artifacts and he had a nice memorial to fallen Louisiana police officers. I got to meet River Rat's husband. Really nice guy and knew about the area like a tour guide. After a nice lunch of shrimp etouffee, we hit a park in town. It had been hunted alot in the past but it was in a nice old neighborhood so it was a quiet pleasant hunt. After about 30 minutes I got a 10/36 at 5 inches. I hadnt really dug much so I figured I would give it shot. I expected an older wheatie but when the light hit the coin, I saw the green patina. I then saw the wreath on the back. I knew I had an indian, the first one of the year. I called felinepeachy and river rat over and showed them. We cleaned it a little and I saw a 190-. We couldnt make out the last digit. We went on and hunted for a few more hours finding clad, but not a lot of trash.
Turns out the indian was a 1906.
Thanks river rat for the invitation and the great Louisiana hospitality. It was really nice to meet both you and felinepeachy. I hope we can do it again some day soon. I hope you ladies find a lot of stuff today. TMAN...
