I do not know any CW history of this land. It has been in my wife's family for probably 30 years. There is an old single tombstone on a hill marked 1800 and something, and a neighbor told me that there was a wagon train through there in the 1800's as well. Hopefully finding these relics will unravel some of the mystery......I searched yesterday for 45 minutes at dusk and found 3 buttons and 5 bullets and many other iron relics....I finally had to leave because it was completely dark. It is supposed to be near 65F here today....so you know where I am going.

Cool finds ! Yup this hobby is a good one allright.I;ve been at it for 4 years and I never get tired of it.Now if old man winter would just go away I could get diggin' agai.Keep it comin'...HH....Panz

Welcome from the UK. looks like there is plenty more to clear yet off that site.

First welcome to the site and family, second awesome stuff. ty for sharing it with us. I look forward to the many more discoverys you will share

Hey, any chance of telling us what part of the state your fields are located in? I'm not looking for an address, of course, but Tennessee is long and thin :-)

Sounds like you have a perfect and huge area for MDing.

Here's an idea: go on google earth or google maps and look at the field as close as it lets you.
You can often see old wagon trails that way that are completely "invisible" when on the ground.

Have (more) fun!

DannyBrooks,
