Today I started a new permission.
Its a place I've tried to get permission for before, but the old man told me ( people have been asking me for years, and im going to tell you what I told all the other people. NO WAY!!!)
So he passed away about 6months ago, and the kids sold. Ive seen the for sale sign for about 3months and been waiting patiently for the sign to come down so I can ask the new owners..
Well that day came last week, and I stopped and asked. The great thing is his wife use to teach were my daughter goes to school.
Im in like flint..lol
He told me to give him a week and come back. So yesterday I stopped again and he told me ok.
I said i will be back today..
After work I went there, and let me tell you, this is the hardest place I have ever hunted. So much iron, sounds like a machine gun going off in my head phones. I dont like running any disc. But here I had to, it it was filtering to much out. As soon as i went back to 0 disc. I started to get them little squeaks.
Anyway, not a hole lot found, but man the 1 real good keeper was all I needed here.
Also found some IHs, and a toasted KG111, I think I see 1773?
And a really cool clay marble. And some silver thing that looks like the end of a pipe?
I believe this place is holding out on some more great finds. Just have to be mentally prepared for it!
All that noise takes a toll on you.
Sorry I've been rambling on but I'm flying high on this one.
I've wanted one of these for a long time..
Ps, I DID IT AHAB8!!!!! LOL
Thanks for looking, and being there to share with you guys and girls.
George

Vino,

Good score on the old silver half.

Unbelievable coin George. :headbang: You sure do deserve that one for the patience you possessed pertaining to this site and the time you invest into this obsession. :notworthy:

Thanks LD,
And you hit it on the nose. Obsession! ! Lol

even with a nose job, she would still be a mutt. the coin however, is FANTASTIC!!

You're on a roll!! Great finds. I'd love to find a huge silver like that some day.

Vino, that's an incredible find. My oldest half dollar is a 1897 Barber. Yours is in really nice shape, where I usually hunt, most silver comes out black.

Wow what an incredible hunt 30/30 or deus how long were you there ..you've really got my hopes up I'm hunting a new permission this weekend and I'm very excited especially now .congradulations

Ohhh Man! Finding anything 1700s is slim to none in my area but 1827 now that's a more realistic goal. I like seeing the stuff that I have a chance of finding. Sweet find!

Almost had a coronary when I got THAT message haha! Like I said, you're having the best year a guy could hope for. It looks like the square base 2 variety, so coool!

Boom, Big Bust Silver! Absolutely incredible George. Way to work hard researching and swinging... you totally deserve this. Keep these finds coming, you have been killing it this year man.

Sweet RR tag and toasty KG too!

Is that little house a padlock

Thanks Joe,
The deus, and was there for about 3 and half hours.
Good luck.

Just one? LOL!
With your luck I would have thought there would have been at least six to find in that yard. :laughing9:

You my friend are on a roll that may never be equaled! :notworthy:

Oh - that marble had me wondering at first why there was a huge musket ball in the yard!

Congrats on your latest banner! :)

Great story. Sometimes things go just right and the stars align. Other times you get a permission just to find out it was cleaned out illegally. Well I'm glad this one worked out for you. That Ice Cube song "Bow Down" comes to mind on this find. Me and my seated half this year bow down! Lol
