Was able to get out for a quick hour hunt today after work but before dinner. Went to the local spot that keeps giving, and it did well for an hour of hunting. We have hit this spot so many times, so I was digging all mixed signals. Lots of square nails and aluminum siding... Part of the gig though.

Started with a couple wheats. Then got the spoon, which I think is really old. I believe it is copper and it was silver plated at one point. I am thinking early 1800's or late 1700's. Then I hit the fork that looks like the same period. That fork is so twisted up it looks like an expensive art peice that I don't understand. Ended with the Indian head, working on cleaning it up to hopefully get a date.

Hopefully the rain holds off this weekend so I can get somewhere... Anywhere!

Wow someone was mad at the spoon & fork! :laughing7:

Indian head update

Here is a pic after cleaning up the Indian head. The front is roasted and can't make a date, but the back cleaned up pretty nicely! Have to love that shield.

How u get the coin so clean?

I have the ultra sonic coin and jewelry cleaner machine. Run that with some windex and clean with a baby toothbrush. Then finish it off with a olive oil soak for about 24 hours.

nice finds....sorry about the indian condish...toasty coppers are a bummer.

Congrats on your IH!
