I got plenty of those in boxes several months ago. Wished I kept them instead of tossing them back. I have the feeling that these coins will become very valuable.

.the 64 is great!! as for the other coin. I have found about 3 of them so far. I just throw them in the coin machine at my dump bank.

Politics aside, that coin looks like complete garbage. And I say that as someone who voted for him. Just looks so tacky.

And not just this coin, either, but really all modern designs are just terrible. I look at those 2009 Lincoln cents, the new Jefferson designs, and the state quarters, then compare them to Mercs, Walking Liberty halfs and Buffalo nickels and it's embarrassing how our coinage art has become so bad.

Just my two cents. No pun intended.

If this guy ends up declaring himself the "messiah",turns out to be a "False Dmitriy",or ends up getting impeached, this coin is going to be worth a lot of money. I'll bet I had chucked 100 of them like a dope.

Declaring himself "messiah"? I think that would be more of Sarah Palin's line. ;D
Where there any Richard Nixon items worth anything?

awesome finds!!! i think it looks tacky too, but i would keep it just because its different then the normal coins i usually see...keep it up and hh!

Guy at our local coin shop has been trying to get rid of a 1oz Obama round for a while now. He said something about putting it on the railroad tracks soon... ;D

Personally, I'd love to see a return to putting Lady Liberty on all our coins again. I understand the need to remember and honor our Founding Fathers and other Presidents, but there's something timeless and classical about the old Liberty (or even Indian Head) coins that you don't get with an Eisenhower dollar, Roosevelt dime, etc, despite the fact they were great men. The one exception is the Washington quarter. I think that's a fantastically designed coin (not the state quarters, though).

Being that I am a penny nut . Well lets just say , I tend to agree that since the 1982 penny . the material and design of U.S. coins not only decay over time , the material is caput. I find many penny's that look like a neco wafer when I am metal detecting . Some kind of filler white stuff that makes the coin so you could not use it in a gumball machine. I agree that the sheild penny design is ho-hum. The true copper pennys are going to someday be like the wheats of today. Nothing is made like the original. They find away to ship it to some other country and make it cheeper . Iam not sure why it is we skimp on our currency content . and we are loosing money according to the government by using the penny. I will say this if you can find post 1982 penny's in mint state best to buy them . although put them in a vault because if the air hits them they will rot.

Come on man.......wake up my fellow CRHer!

So here's a question... 2002 on was not circulated from what I read (correct me if I'm wrong).

Is the 2007-P coin it's minted on worth anything as a coin?

Yes, halves minted from 2002 to present are Not Intended For Circulation (NIFC). They are harder to find than common date halves. However, even in really good condition, it's only worth a few dollars to the right person.

LOL ive gotten over a hundred. I hate them. Not even counting the political elements half the coin machines i go to dont take them and when i roll them up and they are checked by the tellers they dont think they real money. Without a doubt they are the worst large number of halves i dont want. Even some of the foreign coins i get are better and easier to get rid of , and look a whole lot better.
