Today's Church Digs....: 1806 Draped 1/2 Cent, Tombacs, Old Knife....

I have been pounding the heck outta' this site for quite a while. This site has a lot of history dating back to a pre Colonial log cabin church. The log cabin church burned and then a new one was built. The church is very old and still active. The site was also a stop along "The Walking Purchase". Walking Purchase - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The stuff.....: I'm not sure how old the knife is, but it looks old, hahah!! Any suggestions as to a possible age? It appears to have a bunch of etchings.

Thanks everyone!! The knife has been id'ed as a late 1700's- early 1800's bone handle cutlery knife.

Great finds and history you provided :icon_thumleft:

Beautiful finds CousinEddy. If that knife still has wood on it it's surprisingly well preserved. I have only one knife with intact wood handle,it's a hunting knife that I think is pretty old.

Cool finds, the half cent is to cool!

It's bone. That's most likely the reason it's still intact. Thank you for the reply.
