Today's Civil War finds

37 degrees is not cold when you and a digging partner move maybe 500 pounds of rocks. We went to one of my sites in Virginia, which has been pounded for years and I pulled out a few keepers.

The button on the top is an uncleaned underwear button. I also have a 1" x 1" roller iron buckle getting soaked at the moment. Nothing really has been preserved, and I really like the CW scissors. One odd button is not shown, it appears to have a silvered coating on it. And a lot of iron attached, will have to figure out how to clean it - in the morning.

I never found a CW scissors before. I really like them. They should get cleaned up today. That was only my 2nd ever kepi buckle. The eagle button is very nice with the shank.

Very nice find. As a fellow Virginian, I can wait to get out and put some of the new permissions and research Iv'e got to use. Waiting on this new knee to heal up. Thanks for posting.
