today's finds 04/11/2020 A nice spring day

hit the fields this morning at 10:30 and walked until 4:10. Did alright.


Found a few right off


A stinking faker



A nicely made scraper


Decent point tip


Another tip


Another look alike faker


Another what looked like a tip - is not.


Then the farmer friend told me to check a field he found some things on a while back, had to walk through a corn field to get there. The field was freshly cultivated so I could not walk it easily.


Walking back however I spotted this.










So I walked into another part of the field and thought I would like to find a banner, a lost lake, thebes or hardstone. I could find anything as I know this area had not been searched in a while.

This I saw this at the same time I got a text I though Oh Yea! No doubt about it. So I took the text and made a call, sent a photo to my bud and said "do you know what this is?"

This is my third hard stone within a months time, the adz on 03/29/2020,


the 3/4 groove ax on 04/05/2020 and then this nice high ridge 3/4 grooved ax.
That is a good start to the season.

the bifurcate is very thin. It may be a fox valley type with the slightly upcurve to the profile
