Tried to get permission on some new places today but was denied. So we went back to were I was yesterday. Got in around 4 hours of hunting before the rains came and I took out the Garrett 250 to play around with. Found another 1965 quarter and the other oldest was a 1969d penny also found a car wash token and some plated jewelry. Separated the clad from the copper again. I noticed this yesterday on the Minelab and the 250 today. The copper pennies rang in on the penny mark on the 250 and clad pennies rang in between the dime and penny. I assume because the zinc in them. The Minelab the coppers were 28 to 32 and the zinc was 36 to 38 the conditions are very wet so I am sure it might come into play. Any thoughts?

Super nice token. Be Careful with the Zinc / Copper numbers. My Minelab huntbuddy and I have seen IH come up in the zinc range. Even Gold coins ring up in the Zinc range. I made the mistake of not digging some zinc when I was in a bit of a rush, and it cost me a few older Wheats and IH. I won't make that mistake again. :BangHead:

I separate copper and zinc pennies. I have a few coffee cans of copper pennies assuming that they are worth more just in copper value. I have half a cereal bowl full of TOASTED Zinc.

That carwash token has to be the coolest I've seen in a while.

Mariposa Gold.

Thanks for the info. I usually dig everything even pull tabs because they can be nickels.
