I hit my large lacrosse field today. This field is across from a General Store / Hotel that goes back to the 1750's. The targets in this field are few and far between and deep. Previously I've recovered some horse tack in the field. Used the Manticore today with the M9 coil. Should have taken the larger coil to cover more ground. I know there are old items here, just a matter of finding them.
First target was a button. Thought coin at first till I noticed how thin it was. In the first pic you can see the shank which I did not see when I flipped it over in the hole. Looks to be 1785-1800 from the button dating guide. It's slightly larger than a Washington quarter. It has pie crust looking design around the edges although the pics don't really show it.
Next was a shotgun headstamp. Have to clean it up to date it.
Next two square nails. Two separate holes.
Lastly, a set of Doosan keys. Most likely from either a Bobcat or Skoda machine.
Thanks for looking...
