To cold to dive so I'm digging in the mud . 2nd trade axe not sure what the hook was used for any ideas ?

hi great finds pretty sure that is an early style pick.

tools have evolved and you never see a newer pick with out the blade on the other side these days.
people using a spade shovel would kill to hve a modern shovel or a back hoe .
