Today's Finds

Hi I've been detecting for some time but never got serious about the forums or really trying this for more then a few hours at a time in between all the other things going on in life such as daily work. Anyway I have a White's Eagle Spectrum and a Garrett Mark V. I've found a few things but nothing much, certainly not enough to pay for the equipment yet. Here's today's finds. No pics but it sure was exciting to find the 1943D Mercury dime this morning.

Metal Detector Log

Whites Eagle Spectrun

7/20 2 pennies front yard
7/21 4 pennies, 1 dime, 2 pulltabs front yard
7/21 7 pennies, 5 pulltabs front yard
7/21 1 dime, 1 1943 D Mercury Dime 1 pull tab front yard
7/21 2 pennies front yard

Thanks for taking the time to view this and I hope to find some neat items soon.

Re: Today's Finds

Keep at it, you would be surprised how fast it all adds up. Way to go on finding silver! Hang in there bud, it will get better yet.

Re: Today's Finds

Congrats on the Merc. I'm still searching for my first one WTG.

Re: Today's Finds

Any plans on leaving the yard? ;)
Just kidding with ya.
Great job on the finds, just make sure you keep posting, so we can see what ya got.
Oh, and if you're worried about paying for the equipment, it won't be as much fun. :)

Re: Today's Finds

Thanks Piggman I'm going to try and take a little bit of time each day. The best hunt I ever had was many years ago at Taylor Park. I cleaned out about $50 in clad change and a couple of diecast cars around the lake front obstacle course. Anyway I'm very much interested in making more of the hobby. Do you know of any good sites around Largo, Florida? I have been wanting to get to Vero Beach sometime soon!

Thank you

Re: Today's Finds

Hi I'm hitting reply and hope I'm doing this right. Thanks to all for the encouragement and hope everyone finds neat items. My house was built in 1953 and I was doing some research. it seems that we were near the old Lake Largo that was filled in around 1916. So in addition to the coins that my kids have dropped in the yard I thought there may be some older goodies lying about. Anyway thats the best place to practice. I may try another hunt tomorrow. Thanks everyone and I'll try some future posts with photos.

Re: Today's Finds

The Eagle was my first real machine many years ago. Great detector I wish I had it back!
