It was very cold today, but I decided to go out today and do some hunting with my buddy Fieldwalker. We went to a local park that dated back to 1850's. We have found a lot of silver here in the past 2 years. I first started out the hunt next to the old bandstand but had no luck. I decided to go to the north end of the part that I have not hunted much. While I was detecting around a old oak tree I got a signal @ 8 inches that was a iffy silver tone. I was using my 6 x 8 Excelerator coil so I was able to work around the trash that was abundant there. I cut my plug and dug down to 6 inches. I probed the hole and got a nice tone to one side which was a nice Mercury Dime. I then searched the hole again and got another tone which was 2 more Mercury Dimes. Wow 3 mercs in one hole. I went over to show Fieldwalker my finds. As I returned to where I was detecting I got a nice medium range tone at 7 inches which at first would have thought it was a pulltab, but due to depth I dug it. Glad I did. It ended up being a button from ILL. Industrial University that was founded in 1867. Which is now know as University of Illinois in Champaign
