Found this in the creek, was about 6 inches deep after heavy rains. Found two other similar poeces but they seemed to be melted aluminum. This one was a little different and a different type of metal....Any thoughts??

Its from a camp fire in 1983-12 gauge shotgun shell cap -that cooked along with the cans!

Your precise dating is astonishing. It's almost as if you were at the fire and remember it. Were their banjo's and pig noises? JK.....Could be a shotgun cap i suppose but it had to be a different fire it was pretty far from the aluminum.

I have dug similar burned clumps. They are lighter than lead.Could be aluminum.
