Today's short trip

Well today was a short but exciting trip . Two bullets. One solid and one pretty beat up a purple jewel of some kind and then this washer looking piece that says " good for $00.5 in trade" on one side and 19811 on the other I have no clue what that is, so any help would be great.

Good find on the minis. Never seen a "washer" worth $0.5 in trade......company store token maybe?

It is a trade token alright but I've never seen one that just had numbers on one side. They usually have the name of the business on them. Very different. TD

Numbered tokens are one of the big mysteries of numismatics. I've written several posts about my thoughts - you can check the archives (search for numbered). These are slot machine tokens and I think the numbers relate to either a "route of machines" serviced by one person or something very similar. I've seen them with from single to 5-digit numbers.

Cool finds, I love the 3 ring!

Never seen a token like that before. Cool find.

I have heard that soldiers would deposit their money in places before battles or something like that. And thought this might be one of the the coins or something that they kept track of to redeem the money

Maybe its scrip from a coal mines company store? :dontknow:
Either way,Its really kool.

Thanks for sharing!!
