Ahh feels like forever since we got to go out! But it was a beautiful day so off we went. Back to the same field by the race course.

I found 2 spindle whorls which I love, then quite a chunky tack pin/ bridle boss, then a weird piece… it’s not a spur, i think it’s a leg … made from bell metal type metal (same as the plate bits we find) then a little pin, the next piece is like a damaged seal matrix, back of seal matrix and the tack pin. 2 bits of buckles, bobbin shot and one of the pesky little bullets, some squashed lead bits, bits of buckles, musket balls (small ones) piece of plate and tiny ring, buttons, 2 weights, something with a Roman face, don’t think it’s a coin as very thin, and finally my half short cross hammered!

sunshine forecast again for tomorrow, so eat sleep and repeat 😆 xx

Great finds Congratulations
The pictures with the blue backing and the scenery are amazing

Well it's great to see you out digging again blossom.
Congrats on the hammered short cross :headbang:

What's on the other side of the Roman?
(I like the look of it-reminds me of a crusty Roman silver)

Nicely done on the 2 weights, and the chunky tack pin.
Not sure what figure is on the face, looks like a pig on front end and a dog hind quarters in the back.

Interesting pin that has the loop, and that is a smooth looking piece that's curved, no idea.

Cant really see anything on the back of the roman face one.. but will hand back to himself for further analysis tomoz!

Yes the tack pin is another strange on 🤔! Very pleased to get the cut hammered…! This end of the field is proving fun, when i went over it after the harvest was very quiet.. but now its popping, more pot fragments visible now aswell! xx

Awesome as always. Your finds make me want to move to the UK!

I love your posts Blossom. Very informative, but the main reason is your photos. No BS, I think they are the best on Tnet.
Can we vote "BANNER" on photos? ???:tongue3::occasion14:
I'm finally freeing up some time to try out that light box you recommended to me. My pictures have been crape' since I bought an Apple phone. I miss my droid with macro.
Thanks for the post.
Cheers,
MM

Ah thank you! Have no clue what I’m doing really just click nd go 😂 xx

Your "pin" might be a chape from a buckle.

Still doing well with the hammered - congrats.
The 'tack pin' is from a Victorian Riding Crop, went in the end & normally has a Fox on it.
