I was given a brown, metal token with a simple imprint of a pine tree in the shape of a triangle with a horizontal line running through the top. There is nothing else on the token. It looks like an imprint had been made from the back. It was given to me by an Argentinian friend years ago. He said that they used it on the farm to pay farmworkers. Every farm had their own imprint and it corresponded with the burn mark on its cows. This person comes from a wealthy, well-known Argentinian family. Is this the true history? It also reminds me of a masonry sign. Is it worth anything?
I didn't find much information on the old Argentinian token system, but if you Google ""south american" "cattle mark" token' you will see some examples.
