Not much on tokens but I dug this one up its got a funny shape and says(good for five cents in trade hotel and bar) with a big five on the back any info?

I can't tell from your photo, so are you sure it says AND? Is there maybe another letter there making it HOTEL SAND or something? The funny shape is called "S4" or 4 Scallops.

I think it says hotel bank bar now that I look at it close
 

Use a magnifier and a light source coming from the side to see if you can make out the name for certain.

How about "Hotel Rand"? Any chance it is that? The Colorado token book has one listed as Rand, CO, but I wouldn't trust that attribution very much as it appears to have been wishful thinking on somebody's part. Yours looks like it was made by Wright & Co. of Cincinatti which would be further evidence against the Colorado attribution. In fact, there was a Hotel Rand in Cincy from ca. 1900 through the teens. The OH Book lists several varieties from the Hotel Rand, but not this one.

And, I am pretty sure it is made of brass like most tokens of that era were. Check with a magnet to make sure. Where did you find it - what state? That may help to narrow down the search.
