Google search for Toledo Model 571 didn't pin down anything at all.

Just what the heck is this gizmo?

Large grocery store type scales can be tough to sell. That's likely why you got it cheap. Problem is they take up alot of space and other than a display piece for an antique shop or something of that sort they have no practical use these days. I bought one at auction in excellent condition a few years ago made by the Computing Scale Company of Dayton and paid $50. Thought I stole it. 4 years ago when I moved from NH to Tennessee I decided to sell it. Most I was able to get out of it was what I paid, $50.
 

Thx yeah I didn't realize what I got into but I know there fought to sell but at this point I didn't pay that much for it so either way I want knowledge and information so Thank you is been a while ever since I was last on treasurenet I should be on more often
