It's probably made of hardstone and it shows definite signs of use/wear. I'm guessing its Archaic in age also. I'm not an expert, so lets see if any one else here agrees or has another suggestion. I believe the 3/4 Groove came after the Full Groove and is a mid to late Archaic Tool. Yours is a very nice one. Congrats on the great find. Here's a link that may be of help to you.
