My buddy found this button in a old farm field. It's larger than a quarter but smaller than a half dollar. He seems to think it may have some significance,possibly 1700's military but I'm not so sure. Any info is greatly appreciated! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1503621027.757823.webp
 

Cant help you much other than it is not a 1700s Military button. (That I know of) Sheesh thats the problem with chatting with eggheads. You always have to add a disclaimer or an IMO :)

It looks like a 1770-1800 style civilian "dandy" button. Great find.
