Still learning this machine. I’ve been sticking with Park mode because it seems to be the most intuitive. I’ve fooled around with field mode, and it definitely gets more depth but I can’t seem to get consistent signals in the ground. Maybe an issue with my ground-balancing? In air tests the VDI is fairly consistent at varying distances but, in the ground, the number seems to change depending on the depth. I’d appreciate any tips in that regard.

Anyways, I found a lot of pull tabs, a fishing lure, some clad just past silver dates, various railroad artifacts, and these two items. The spoon is badly tarnished, but the inscription on the back says “So.Am Silver-Solid D-1.” (The D-1 might be a DH; it's hard to tell.) Does that mean it’s silver? Silver-plated? I can’t seem to find much. Currently trying to find a similar design on antique spoons but no luck.

Also, I don’t know what the other piece is, but I thought it was cool. Maybe an old car part, like a compartment door?

The spoon rings up at a solid 20 on the Simplex. It's very thin and flattened on the big end.

Nice!! Congrats!!

Nice. Definately silver plated brass or copper. If it was solid silver you would know right away.
