This feels like porcelain or ceramic and has a high pitch sound when I tap it on something. I don’t have a photo of the cross section at the moment, but I’ll take one when I can. The cross section is a perfect circle with a small hole in the center.

I just received word that this is an antler tip. I think that’s right

How big is the hole? Maybe an antler arrow point preform? Gary

I’ll take a picture and upload it tonight

That's what I was thinking!!!!!!!

I’ll have to look up antler arrow preform. Is this one of this?

Update: I was just told this is ivory after posting the new photos and cross section. Can anyone confirm?

First image appears to have a seam. Not antler, I don't think ivory or a tooth (no growth rings).

I think your first guess of ceramic was on.

To confirm ivory, you would need to sand and polish the end with the hole. If it's ivory, there will be fine criss-cross lines visible. Another test would be to take a straight pin and heat it. Touch the hot pin to the object and smell it. Obviously ceramic will not react but antler or ivory will have a burnt hair smell. Gary

I confirmed it’s not ceramic. It’s been altered by Indians or whomever inhabited my land a long time ago. I looked at the end with the hole under my 30x loupe and you can see a cross cross checkered pattern, it’s a very tight pattern. I will polish the end with my Dremel and post photos of it
